My Cat is a Diva and Honestly, I Get It Now

So here’s a thing I never thought I’d say with a straight face: my cat drinks out of a ceramic cat water fountain.

Not a bowl. Not the sink. An actual fountain. With a filter. And an aesthetic.

And let me tell you something… she loves it. Like, paws-on-the-edge, elegant-sipping kind of love. And after seeing it, I kinda get it.

It All Started With One Sniff of Tap Water

My cat, Luna, used to drink from a basic metal bowl. She’d sniff it dramatically, maybe take one sip, and then walk away like it had offended her ancestors.

Hydration? Overrated.

So of course, I panicked. Dehydration? Kidney problems? Is she trying to tell me something?

Cue me frantically Googling “how to make your cat drink more water”, only to stumble into a world I wasn’t ready for: the world of luxury pet hydration. Enter the ceramic cat water fountain.

Turns Out, Fancy Hydration Works

Within five minutes of setting it up, Luna was obsessed. She circled it like prey. She stared at the bubbling spout like it was Netflix. Then she drank. A lot.

And now, she drinks regularly. Her coat looks shinier. Her litter box routine is healthier (you don’t want the details). I realized—maybe she’s not a diva. Maybe she just knew what she needed before I did.

Also, the thing actually looks good on the counter. Bonus points.

Oh, and She’s Also a Food Snob

Just when I thought I had her figured out, Luna decided to boycott her regular kibble. No warning, no transition. Just a dramatic turn of the head and a walk away. Again.

That’s when a friend told me about Applaws cat food. Grain-free, real meat, no weird filler ingredients. I gave it a shot—and I swear, Luna purred after her first meal.

She now waits at the cabinet like it’s a fine dining reservation.

I order both the food and the fountain from Petsky, which has weirdly become my go-to site for all things “my pet deserves better than me.”

Final Thoughts From a Former Skeptic

I used to roll my eyes at people who “overdo it” with their pets. Now I’m over here comparing protein percentages and installing ceramic water systems in my kitchen.

So yeah, my cat might be a diva. But she’s hydrated, well-fed, and frankly, living better than I am. And you know what? She deserves it.
